My Chalice Overfloweth

Air strays, earth stays, but liquid transforms.

I am never without liquid sustenance. Never empty. Always eager to be filled.
They say some of us are given the curse of thirst. The endless yearning for more. The desire to always, and forever be reaching for a greater, more shiny horizon.
As for me, my thirst is unending. With my chalice in hand I drink everything before me.
Water, wine, poison. I drink it all.
Churning inside, the liquids within my body battle. They wash through my guts, surge inside my veins, and become one with my blood.
With every sip I take I transform.
I am a vessel.
A chalice. A glass. A vial.

In life we drink what is put before us without a thought. No matter how monstrous it might make us. Transmuting and feeding our bodily cells with every sip.
I pray every day my chalice is filled with crystalline waters.
Yet I know that is not the case.
I drink to health.
I drink to death.
I drink to the souls around me that I cannot fathom losing.
I drink to the pieces of myself I treasure.
I drink the pieces of myself that have been poisoned.
I drink to the pieces of me that have been healed.

I have been called vile by some.
But they haven’t seen what’s been in my cup.
And the miracles Ive performed.
Turning water to wine.
Dark to light.
And death to love.
