We are forever chasing the eternal spark of life that occurs from sexual exchange of liquids, but, as mere mortals, we know we will never transmute death to life, lead to gold, or water to wine.
What we can transform is ones life, one's purpose, one's glamour, one's soul. Mixing a little of this and a little of that every day until we die.

Alchemy is about the journey to test and try every element the world has to offer in various combinations in order to create.
Abundance is not necessary for creation, but variety is.
We live in a world with an endless amount of creative potential through the variety of concoctions we create as human beings, or the natural elements that nature bestows before us.

In life we are cursed with the endless pursuit of more.
Another drink, another experience, another love, another dance.
We always want without ever feeling truly at peace - no matter what those yogi granola mammas will tell you.

Alchemy is all about harnessing nature and the world around you for the benefit of all.
Like a cowboy guiding his herd from pasture to pasture, we too gently nudge our botanical ingredients to get them to go where we need them to go.
Purge The Poison
The minute we manipulate once perfect natural substances by refining them, adding solvents, refract molecules, split atoms, or corrupt with chemicals that should never be mixed, we lose the light of that substance.
It becomes dark.
Instead of inherently helping, it now inherently harms.
Alchemy does not tolerate impurities.
The practice must purge all poisonous matter or else it will never work.

Once fragrant perfumes had health benefits because they were made with 100% natural botanicals, but now they trigger your immune system and allergies almost instantly.
Synthetic fragrance is detrimental to everyone, whether they notice it or not, yet natural fragrance from real plant materials is the embodiment of health.

The ancient Egyptians dabbled in potion-making, mixing honey, herbs, and a sprinkle of mystery to heal the sick.
Medieval monks, sworn to wisdom and sobriety, secretly experimented with elixirs of eternal youth.
In the 17th century, love potions were all the rage, though more often than not, they resulted in awkward proposals.
A potion is something you drink, you use, you apply. Something from a small container that you believe to contain benefit to your person.
Potions are for all.

The idea of Alice In Wonderland's instantaneous transformation is quite far fetched. In real life, slow methodical potion making and potion usage will shift your fortunes for the better.
In folklore potions are always secretive. People do not use potions in the daylight telling all their friends about what benefits they wish to achieve. It is a secret, personal practice.

Perhaps transformation best occurs in secret, when nobody is watching, when the opinions, perspectives, and judgement of those around do not infiltrate the mind's eye.
